FPG

The Frank Porter Graham Child Development Center (FPG) at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill is one of the nation's oldest multidisciplinary centers for the study of young children and their families. Research and education activities focus on child development and health, especially factors that may put children at risk for developmental problems. FPG is home to the Systems Change in Personnel Preparation projects.

CLAS

The CLAS Institute identifies, evaluates, and promotes effective and appropriate early intervention practices and preschool practices that are sensitve and respectful to children and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

OSEP

The U.S. Department of Education (DOE) supports a variety of innovative projects with promise for improving the education of all students, including those with disabilities. DOE (OSEP) is the funding source for the Systems Change projects.

ACCESS

The American Associate Degree Early Childhood Educators (ACCESS) is a group of faculty in community, technical, junior, and 4-year colleges who share perspectives on curriculum development, instructional design, program articulation, and classroom research related to early childhood and out-of-school time programs.

ERIC

The Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC) is a national information system designed to provide users with ready access to an extensive body of education-related literature. ERIC, established in 1966, is supported by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Educational Research and Improvement, and the National Library of Education.

NBCDI

The National Black Child Development Institute (NBCDI) exists to improve and protect the quality of life for African American children and their families. Its national office directs programs that provide public awareness and training in the areas of early care and education, elementary and secondary education, child welfare, and health. Affiliate chapters in 33 locations provide direct services at the community level.

NCEDL

The National Center for Early Development & Learning (NCEDL) is a federally-funded research institute focused on enhancing the cognitve, social, and emotional development of children from birth through age eight.

IES

The Institute of Education Sciences (IES) provides national leadership for educational research and statistics. IES strives to promote excellence and equity in American education by conducting research and demonstration projects funding through grants to help improve education. IES is the funding source for NCEDL.
