The Parent Leadership Development Project (PLD) provided leadership training and support to parents of young children with disabilities (birth to five years) until 2004. The project also responded to parents' continuing need for information about local, state and national resources that exist to support families of young children with disabilities.
"Many parents wish they had a stronger voice in the services their child receives. One way parents and other family members can be more involved is by becoming leaders at the community, state or national level."
