Annual NDRC Research Forum
Each year the NDRC has hosted a half-day research symposium on a topic of interest to NDRC Investigators. The aim of the symposia is to extend the Monthly Investigator Forums by providing a more in-depth review of a topic that could potentially be developed into an inter-disciplinary collaboration. Symposia presenters are requested to make their presentations understandable to a wider audience than the colleagues in their own disciplines. Last year the forum was entitled "Imaging the Developing Mind and the Brain" and included presentations ranging from multiphoton imaging of the developing neurons to fMRI studies of neural circuitry in autism and schizophrenia. This year’s symposium is entitled, "Fragile X Syndrome: A Model for Interdisciplinary Research on Neurodevelopmental Disorders" and will span the range of studies from human behavioral and imaging studies and neonatal genetic screening, to the study of basic molecular genetic and developmental neurobiological mechanisms in this disorder.
