Adult Immunization Schedule

The following recommendations are adapted from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Prevention Guidelines. Before receiving immunizations, consult with your primary health care provider.

Immunization Recommendation
Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) Non-pregnant women of child-bearing who are not pregnant or intend to become pregnant within 28 days, that do not have written documentation of immunization. Vaccine should not be administered to some women, such as those with immunosuppression; consult your physician.
Tetanus-Diphtheria 18-65+ years. Every 10 years.
Varicella Non-pregnant women of any age who have not had chicken pox or been vaccinated should receive two doses of varicella vaccine. Vaccine should not be administered to some women, such as those with immunosuppression; consult your physician.
Pneumococcal (Pneumonia) 65+ years. Women vaccinated prior to age 65 should be vaccinated at age 65 if five or more years have passed since the first dose. Women with health problems at any age should talk with their primary health care provider first.
Influenza (flu) Women in their 2nd and 3rd trimester of pregnancy during the flu season. 50+ years. Women who wish to reduce the likelihood of becoming ill with influenza. Given annually each fall and winter.
Hepatitis B Women with occupational risk of exposure to blood or blood contaminated body fluids. Women who have household, sexual, blood or needle sharing contacts that are chronically infected with hepatitis B. Clients and staff of institutions for the developmentally disabled. Hemodialysis patients. Women who are recipients of clotting-factor concentrates. Certain international travelers - women residing >6 months in areas with high levels of endemic hepatitis B. Inmates of long term care correctional facilities. Sexually active women with multiple partners or with a history of sexually transmitted disease. Three doses of Hep B vaccine are needed for disease protection.
