CDC Focus on Women with Disabilities The Disability and Health Program at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) works to promote health and wellness for people with disabilities. Since 1997, women have been a special area of emphasis for program activities. Women with disabilities are an under-served population who face the same health problems as other women, but have the extra responsibility of dealing with health concerns related to their disabilities.
