Access for All: Interacting with Persons with Disabilities

Understanding that most programs struggle financially to support the most basic of services, the NC Governor’s Crime Commission has committed to provide access to funding for basic adapted equipment that relate to the Fundamental Elements of Accessibility. Receipt of these funds will be contingent on viewing and completing the training DVD, "Interacting with Persons who have Disabilities".

Please view the eight scenarios from the video "Interacting with Persons with Disabilities" and complete the post viewing quiz. A score of 75 or higher entitles your agency to request funding for equipment from the NC Governor's Crime Commission. You will receive information from GCC on more details about application for this funding.

This DVD will also be mailed to each agency and posted on the Coalitions’, NCODH, and Council for Women websites. After viewing the DVD, each agency’s Executive Director or designated staff will be asked to complete an internet-based survey and print the subsequent score. This will be submitted to GCC with application for funds.

All staff and direct service volunteers must view the DVD, as it provides critical information on providing services to persons with disabilities. Requests for funding will also be contingent on submitting written confirmation that there is an established plan/time-line for all staff and direct service volunteers to view the DVD.

Thank you.
