IMPACT: Improving & Maximizing Professional Development Access
& Consultation for Teachers


“Better teachers give poor preschoolers best head start,” read the headline over the lead editorial in the October 3rd USA Today. That reflects increasing public concern over the quality of education of the early childhood workforce.

This concern is the impetus for Project IMPACT (“Improving and Maximizing Professional Development Access and Consultation for Teachers”), a two-year project focused on increasing the knowledge of 100 early childhood educators in ten rural NC counties.
