Alaska

Alaska's developmental profile (assesses children entering Kindergarten) and Alternative Assessment for children with disabilities. Stakeholder committee will review proposed outcome indicators and provide feedback. Need to be reviewed for quality and accuracy.

Arkansas

Colorado

Systems to be reviewed: Qualistar Rating System, parent perceptions of child progress, parent satisfaction survey, Part C data, Kindergarten teacher perception of readiness, Infant/Toddler Environmental Rating Scale, Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale (program quality).

Instruments which Colorado will analyze for use as statewide assessments: High/Scope Child Observation Record, Creative Curriculum Developmental Continuum, Work Sampling Developmental Checklist, The Ounce Scale (Part C).

Illinois/Texas

Family survey items will be based on Bailey (1998) family outcomes framework, items previously tested from the Family-centered program rating scale (Murphy and Lee, 1991), modified items from Florida's item measures for four dimensions of parent involvement in part B item pool, and ECO 2004 published research findings.

Refine current assessment process based on the KY Assessment Guide recommendations. Since Continuous Assessment System is new and voluntary, will work with programs to design or refine current assessment system to ensure that: 1. the system is comprehensive and addresses all levels of a continuous assessment system, 2. the system is viable for both children with and without disabilities, and 3. the system provides data on the extent to which children are meeting state standards.
