| October 20, 2009 | Webinar: Helping Local Administrators and Providers Analyze and Use their Outcomes Data Presented by Lisa Balivet and Fauna Hubble (AK), and Lisa Backer (MN) This is an encore presentation from the June, 2009 Measuring Child and Family Outcomes conference. In this session, two states shared how they are preparing for local programs to use child outcomes data to improve local Part C and 619 services and results for children and families. Alaska discussed how their data system is designed to assist local EI programs in reporting, understanding, and eventually using their data for program improvements. Minnesota shared activities that support local leadership in conducting simple analyses for the purpose of pattern checking the quality of ECSE data. |

This session shares guidance materials and offers suggestions for analyzing and using family survey data collected with a variety of different approaches for program improvement. Presenters from West Virginia and Vermont will highlight how they have begun using family survey data for program improvement, discuss lessons learned, and offer suggestions for addressing the challenges they have encountered. |

| September 22, 2009 | Webinar: The Role of Related Service Providers in Child Outcomes Measurement Presented by Barbara Hanft, Patrice Linehan, Toby Long, Sandra Schefkind, & Sharon Willig For the national meeting in June 2009 on ‘Measuring Child and Family Outcomes,’ the IDEA Partnership assembled a panel of representatives from DEC, ASHA, AOTA, and APTA to consider the role of the related services provider in measuring child outcomes for federal reporting. In this encore presentation, representatives from ASHA, AOTA, and APTA discussed issues that contribute to the challenge of therapist participation in child outcomes measurement. Issues included 1) the assessment of young children, 2) the role of OTs, PTs, and SLPs as part of a team, and 3) the role of OTs, PTs, and SLPs in early intervention and early childhood special education settings. Panelists described resources available from their professional organizations that address these issues. |

| February 10, 2009 | Advisory Board Meeting, Washington, DC The ECO Center convened a meeting of the new ECO Advisory Board for 2008-2013. Advisory board members were provided with background and history related to the collection of child and family outcome data since the ECO Center was founded. ECO and OSEP provided information on the current state of federal requirements and state progress in building data collection systems for child and family outcomes, and discussed priorities and activities related to the new funding cycle. |
