  • All Women: Education, Screening, Mammograms
    The project provides education and breast cancer screening services to women with intellectual disabilities in five NC counties and education to their caregivers, mammography technologists and healthcare professionals.

  • An Ethnography of Rural Communities, Families, and Young Children
    This ethnographic project in 6 rural counties in NC and PA will conduct assessments of the relationship between community forces and resources, social networks, family routines and adaptations, and the development of infant and preschool children.

  • Attention, Memory, and Executive Function in Fragile X Syndrome
    This longitudinal project will study cognitive abilities in a sample of 68 children with fragile X syndrome between the ages of 8 and 13 years. This is a continuation of a longitudinal study of children with FXS that began in the preschool years.

  • Building Bridges: Evaluation of an Integrated Program for School Readiness
    This longitudinal study of a multimodal integrated preschool program is designed to improve children's school readiness by promoting pre-literacy, communication, mathematics, & socioemotional skills in children at risk for school difficulties.

    The project addresses the child care needs and utilization patterns of Latino low-income parents, and factors that influence parental choice of care.

  • Early Intervention Graduates at Kindergarten: Analyses of Outcomes from the National Early Intervention Longitudinal Study (NEILS)
    The project uses data collected from the National Early Intervention Longitudinal Study to create explanatory multivariate models of the relationships between child, family, and service characteristics and child and family outcomes at kindergarten.

    This project evaluates the efficacy of a new widely used curriculum for home visitors, Partners for a Health Baby, now linked with LearningGames, a curriculum developed in the 1970s for the Abecedarian Projects.
