Greg Burress, BA is Associate Director for Administration and Finance at the FPG Child Development Institute at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Burress’s current work is centered around updating and improving systems and procedures intended to support the work of FPG’s administrative cores, childcare program, research, technical assistance, professional development, outreach and public service missions.

Active initiatives at FPG include membership in: 1) Information Management Vision Team—working to improve implementation of technology, information management, and inter & intra-institutional communication/dissemination; 2) Childcare Finance Committee—focused on maintaining financial viability for FPG’s Childcare Program; 3)FPG Management Team—a cross section of the FPG community working to advise and support the Director’s vision and planning for institutional needs and initiatives; 4) FPG Executive Leadership Board—comprised of external stakeholders and senior FPG leadership focused on strategic planning and consideration about FPG’s presence in the state, nation and world; and 6) FPG Leadership Group—Senior administrative members tasked with addressing and bringing resolution to a broad range of management decisions.

Affiliated activities include membership in 1) UNC-CH HR and Finance Enterprise Resource Planning Stakeholders Committee, formed and sponsored by the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor and Provost; 2) UNC Effort Reporting and Certification Review Committee member; and 3) InfoPharm/InfoPort AdHoc Development Group, examining a reporting interface to allow researchers and administrators access to financial information via a web interface.
