Pamela J. Winton, PhD is a senior scientist and director of outreach at FPG. She has been involved in research, outreach, training, personnel development, and publishing related to early childhood for the last 25 years. This includes involvement on 11 different federally funded early childhood research institutes and projects funded by the US Department of Education, including directing (PI or Co-PI) six of them.

Currently, she is a principal investigator of the National Center on Professional Development on Inclusion, a five year project (2006-2011) whose purpose is to work with states to create a cross-agency system of high quality professional development for early childhood personnel who work with young children with disabilities in inclusive settings.

She has published over 35 articles, chapters and books on these topics. Committed to bridging the gap between research and practice, Dr. Winton has developed six training curricula, and has served on numerous advocacy boards. She is also a Research Professor in the School of Education at UNC-CH and has taught interdisciplinary graduate courses in the areas of families, diversity, and teaming.
