FPG Child Care Center Welcomes New Director
Chapel Hill, N.C. — Kate Gallagher, a specialist in early childhood education and early childhood special education, recently became the new director of the FPG Child Care Center. The FPG Child Care Center provides high quality, inclusive early care and education to young children, and supports the research mission of FPG Child Development Institute and the University.
Gallagher, an educational psychologist, has worked with young children and families for 15 years, teaching and administering programs in early intervention, preschool and kindergarten settings. Until recently, she was an assistant professor in the School of Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
FPG child care program is nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and has a 5-star NC child care license, the highest quality rating possible in the state. The center is also certified by the state as a Developmental Day Program and eligible to provide services to young children with disabilities.
