After Abuse: Early Intervention Services for Infants and Toddlers

By law each state is required to ensure that all substantiated cases of maltreated infants and toddlers are referred to Part C early intervention services. In reality, many children may not be receiving the child development services they need. Research on Disparities in Autism Diagnosis Wins Gallagher Award

Twyla Perryman has been awarded the 2008 James J. Gallagher Dissertation Award from FPG Child Development Institute. Perryman’s research will examine factors that may lead to disparities in the age of diagnosis of children with autism spectrum disorders. More . . .

New NECTAC Leadership Appointed

FPG Child Development Institute has appointed new leadership for the National Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center (NECTAC). Dr. Lynne Kahn will serve as Co-Principal Investigator and Director, and Dr. Dean Fixsen will serve as Co-Principal Investigator and Co-Director. NECTAC serves as the U.S. Office of Special Education Program’s national resource for states on implementing the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), particularly the early childhood provisions

FPG Families Featured in RWJF Video and Report

The Farrington and Singleton families credit their children's experiences at FPG's Child Care Program with providing not only the skills in reading and writing that prepare children for kindergarten, but also the motor and social skills that are critical for succeeding in school. Both families are featured in a new video and report produced by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Commission to Build a Healthier America.

Two National Projects Move to FPG
