This website contains the information that NCEDL has collected through a survey on public school involvement in pre-k programs. Please review the information on this website, paying closest attention to the information regarding your state. The first number on each state profile indicates the total number of 4 year old children in the state, (according to the 1999 U.S. Census report).

If we have been unable to gather data about a certain program, we have indicated this by placing two asterisks (**) next to the question. We hope that you will be able to help us finish collecting these data. Please contact Gisele Crawford with questions, comments, edits or if you have additional information. As we receive your comments and changes, we will update the website.

Thank you for your participation.

If you have immediate questions, please contact Gisele Crawford at the National Center for Early Development and Learning (crawford@mail.fpg.unc.edu).
